Understanding my character(s)
(Be sure to include quote and page number!!)
You must use at LEAST 2 quotes from the book.
Understanding your character is a good way for you to really get into your book and see from another person's perspective. In your response this week, describe your character. Think about and discuss:
-1. your main character's personality
- 2. how they act/behave
- 3. what they look like
- 4. how old they are
- 5 what sort of education do you think that they have
- 6 who their friends and family are
- 7 what their financial (money) situation is
- 8 and what their job is (if they have one).

In my book Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson it has a main character named Ping. Ping is a brave little orphan girl. She believes in freedom although she doesn't have any. She acts as if she lives a life worth 1,000 dollars. She doesn't care if she looks horrible, some would say she has high amounts of self pride. She is a very uneducated little slave girl. I'm even surprised she can speak at all, because she has a hard time as it is when she tries to talk to anybody. She doesn't even know her own age!
Her friend Danzi (Imperial Dragon) has now had to leave her and fly away to freedom. She is now getting to know the Emperor so maybe she will become friend with him. She has no idea who her family is. She is poor in her personal financial situation but being with the Emperor she gets what she wants . She has a job as the Emperor's little assistant. The Emperor really wants her there so she stays as they are now traveling to a temple of which name I don't know.

Bryan,
ReplyDeleteI love your background! :O
Bryan you attempted all 8 parts of the question and give some thoughtful answers.
Grade: 4
next step:
could you please use quotes to support some of your ideas - you should be able to come up with 4. Stop being lazy!
Why is she brave? How have you "seen that she believes in Freedom? How does she live life so fully? What does she look like? How does she show all this pride? (awesome statement by the way) Give an example of how she tries to speak. Why do you think a slave could become friends with an Emperor?
Do some grammar/usuage checking.
